Anson Frericks Business Executive, Author, Co-Founder of Strive Asset Management
About the Author
Anson Frericks is the founder of Athletic Capital, consumer focused private equity firm, and the cofounder of Strive Asset Management, a financial company that is committed maximizing long-run value to investors. Prior to founding Strive, he led finance, sales, and marketing operations as president of Anheuser-Busch Sales & Distribution Company. He is a mission-driven leader with over 15 years of experience creating innovative business strategies, building winning cultures, and leading results-oriented teams.
His forthcoming book, Last Call for Bud Light, tells the astonishing inside story of how Bud Light lost its position as the most popular beer in the United States. Rather than pursue shareholder profits by focusing on their customer, Anheuser-Busch suddenly became enamored with stakeholder capitalism and controversial programs like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), which ultimately led to Bud Light’s downfall. Frericks has given interviews for Fox Business, CNBC, NewsNation, ABC News, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and other media outlets commenting on Anheuser-Busch’s failure to remediate declining sales and what the future holds for the company.
In his lectures, Frericks draws on his own experiences in corporate America and offers insight into how companies and brands should navigate the current political climate. In a highly polarized political landscape, Frericks expertly explains how businesses should focus on shareholder capitalism and the people who buy their products and what may happen when they don’t, using Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch as an example. An in-demand speaker who’s lectured at business schools, universities, industry conferences, financial groups, and more, Frericks candidly provides advice for any audience looking to hone the mission of their business, connect with customers, build organizations meant to last for 100+ years and learn about finance and the economy in general.
Frericks earned his BA from Yale University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently lives Cincinnati, Ohio.
